Let’s go to a Reds game!
I recently visited Cincinnati for the opening weekend of the 2025 season. In my opinion, it’s not baseball season until Opening Day in Cincinnati! It is truly a holiday for this baseball-loving town.
We attended Kids’ Opening Day this year. I loved the player parade! We also visited the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum. You can check out my previous posts about the Hall of Fame and Museum, as well as Great American Ball Park.
Nick Lodolo was on the mound against Justin Verlander and the San Francisco Giants. The Reds came out on top 3-2, thanks to Matt McLain and Christian Encarnacion-Strand homers, as well as an Elly De La Cruz RBI single.
We arrived early and parked in the Central Riverfront Garage. I highly recommend parking here! Follow the signs and you should come up right at the stadium. Gates opened at 1:30 for the 4:10 start, so we had plenty of time to explore my favorite stadium and take in the sights and sounds.
The concession stand had a pleasant surprise: The Kroger Meal Deal! For only $10, we got a hot dog, a drink, chips, and a dessert. Talk about a deal!
In my opinion, the Reds are a very family-friendly, fan-forward organization, and that shows through their game-day experience. I appreciated not having to have a clear bag (click here for an up-to-date bag policy at Great American Ball Park).
When you visit GABP, it's clear that everyone loves the Reds. From the Hall of Fame staff, to the ushers, to the concession stand employees, everyone was excited about the game and the season ahead.
If you are a baseball fan, add Opening Day in Cincinnati to your travel list! Want any tips? Please ask! I've been attending games in Cincinnati since I was a child and love making the trek to the Queen City.
Have you been to Great American? Tell me in the comments!
